I am struggling to think of many musicians that 50 years in to their career are still putting out fresh and relevant work. As much as I love so many of Neil Young's contemporaries few; if any have honestly made a note of music worth listening to in many a decade. So what sets Neil Young apart? For me; it is the fact he still cares. Like Bruce Springsteen; he may still be insanely wealthy; but it is his inner soul that remains his focus. Whether producing whole albums worth of feedback; squabbling with David Crosby or chilling out acoustically; Neil Young is simply untouchable.
