The American hip hop trio hails from Brooklyn, New York City. The Beastie Boys has been delivering amazing quality music ever since their formation. The band was formed as hardcore punk band in the year 1979. They shifted to hip hop genre afterwards. Their music first appeared in compilation cassette ‘New York Thrash’ after which they released their first EP titled ‘Polly Wog Stew’ in 1982.

Beastie Boys debut album ‘Licensed to III’ was released in 1986 which earned them critical acclaim and huge international commercial success. They have sold around 40 million albums worldwide hitherto.

The band’s current members comprise of vocalist and drummer Mike D, vocalist and bassist MCA and vocalist/guitarist Ad-Rock. The DJ style of Mix Master Mike, who was hired in the band in 1997, resulted in the production of amazing quality music by the band. Since then the band has been nominated consistently for Grammy and MTV awards. The band has won Grammy three times for their works in ‘Intergalactic’, ‘Hello Nasty’ and ‘The Mix-up’.
