The legendary rock and roll singer was one of the most popular singers of the 20th century. Elvis is still remembered worldwide while people still play his music everywhere. Various bands and singers have often paid their respects and tributes to Elvis Presley by including his numbers in their gigs.
Elvis was widely famous as ‘The King’. People called him the ‘King of Rock and Roll’. The music career of Elvis began in 1954 when he was signed under the record label named ‘Sun Records’.
Elvis is considered to be the pioneer of rockabilly with his music genre incorporating fusion of country and rhythm blues. The first RCA single of Elvis titled ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ which was released in 1956 became a huge hit. His uninhibited performance gigs made him even more popular. His film debut happened with ‘Love Me Tender’ released in 1956.
Elvis was nominated for 14 Grammy Awards out of which he won three. He also received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award at the age of 36. He died at the age of 42 in the year 1977 owing to excessive drug usage.
