The American rock band from Waldorf, Maryland was formed in the year 1996. The band has been playing with a constant and a consistent line up ever since 1998 with band members like lead vocalist Joel Madden, lead guitarist/backing vocalist Benji Madden, bass guitarist Paul Thomas and rhythm guitarist/keyboardist Billy Martin. The band also included a drummer/percussionist Dean Butterworth in the year 2005.

So far, the band has released around five studio albums and two compilations. Their eponymous album was released in 2000 and marked the start of the music career of the band. The album contained three singles titled ‘Little Things’, ‘Motivation Proclamation’ and ‘Festival Song’ all of which were widely appreciated.

The band increased their fan base with the release of their second studio album ‘The Young and the Hopeless’ in 2002. Their second album sold more than 4.9 million copies and still stands as the reason for the band’s mainstream success.
