The famous American singer, songwriter, musician and actor Iggy Pop was born on April 21, 1947 in Muskegon, Michigan. Iggy’s music has incorporated various genres over the years like pop, metal, jazz and blues. However Iggy is generally considered to be an innovator of punk rock.
During his high school days, he used to perform as a drummer for local blues band ‘The Iguanas’ which made him popular as Iggy.
Iggy Pop is famous for his outrageous and unpredictable stage antics. Several live gigs have seen Iggy performing shirtless. Owing to that, people have often branded him as ‘nude and rude Iggy’.
The singer’s popularity has constantly waned and increased throughout his career. Iggy is often remembered for various hit singles like ‘Lust for Life’, ‘China Girl’, ‘Real Wild Child’, ‘Candy’, ‘Nightclubbing’, ‘Search and Destroy’ and ‘The Passenger’.
