The English alternative rock band which hails from Battle, East Sussex was formed in the year 1997. The current members of the band are pianist/backing vocalist Tim Rice-Oxley, lead vocalist/guitarist Tom Chaplin, drummer/percussionist Richard Hughes and bass guitarist/percussionist Jesse Quin. The original line up of the band also consisted of guitarist Dominic Scott who departed from the band in the year 2001.
Keane achieved mainstream success for the first time with the help of their debut album titled ‘Hopes and Fears’ which was released in the year 2004. The album became the second best selling British album of the year and went on to receive multiple awards including Q Awards, Premios Onda (Spanish) and Brit Awards.
The second album ‘Under the Iron Sea’ topped UK album charts and debuted at #4 on Billboard 200. Their third studio album ‘Perfect Symmetry’ also became a huge hit.
The band’s latest work is an EP titled ‘Night Train’ which was released in 2010.
