The Welsh rock band was formed in the year 1997 in Pontypridd, Wales. The band was founded by vocalist Ian Watkins, bassist Mike Lewis, drummer Mike Chiplin and guitarist Lee Gaze. The band originally happened as a side project to ‘Public disturbance’, which was a hardcore punk band. So far, the band has released around four studio albums. The band generated two top ten hits on the UK Singles Chart with their singles ‘Last Train Home’ which was a part of ‘Start Something’ album released in 2003 and ‘Rooftops’ of ‘Liberation Transmission’ which was released in 2006. The band has won 6 ‘Kerrang! Awards’ for different categories. The band has also won several Pop Factory Awards and an NME Award in 2002. Lostprophets’ latest release is the studio album titled ‘The Betrayed’ which was released in 2010. There next venture is set to release in 2012 titled ‘Weapons’. To date, the band has sold around 4 million albums worldwide.
