The American rock band was formed in the year 1989 by lead vocalist Brian Warner and lead guitarist Scott Putesky. The band was originally called as ‘Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids’. The band believed in unique theatrics which earned them a huge fan following in metal scene. The band has seen many changes in their line up. The band’s current members include Marilyn Manson (Brian Warner), guitarist Twiggy Ramirez, bassist Fred Sablan and touring drummer Jason Sutter. The name of each member of the band was altered in 1996 which saw a combination of an iconic female sex symbol’s name with an iconic serial killer’s name (e.g. merging of Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson resulted in Marilyn Manson). The band members are also known for their outrageous and shocking behavior both on and off- stage. Their violent themes and lyrics have often incited criticism and they have been banned from performing many times..
