“Give me fuel, Give me fire!” This piece from Metallica’s ‘Fuel’ from their seventh album ‘ReLoad’ released in 1997 is considered to be one of the most popular songs of all time and is still played everywhere. The American heavy metal band hails from Los Angeles, California. The band has been placed as one of the founding ‘Big Four of Thrash Metal’ and share the status with bands like Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. The current members of the band are lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Kirk Hammett, bassist and backing vocalist Robert Trujillo. Metallica was formed in the year 1981. However their mainstream success and popularity happened with their third album ‘Master of Puppets’ released in 1986. The band’s fifth eponymous album peaked at #1 on Billboard 200. The band has also won several awards and nominations over the years which include 8 Grammy Awards. Metallica has won around 40 awards and received 79 nominations so far.
